This website serves as the main hub of information, scholarship, and communication for those interested in Writing Program Administration. On this website, you can become a member of the council and join the WPA-Listserv as well as find access to scholarship in the field.

Although it is not owned or sponsored by the CWPA, the WPA-Listserv provides the best access to other writing program administrators and scholars in the field. It is an international list that welcomes discussion from faculty, students, and administrators. Subscription is required.

With a primary focus on the work of writing program administration, this journal publishes empirical research as well as theoretical scholarship. According to the website, they publish a wide range of research in a number of formats and welcome scholarship that helps both titled as well as untitled administrators of writing.

Listed under the “Resources” Tab on the CWPA website, this list provides access and information to the current journals and publication opportunities for scholarship in the field of rhetoric and composition. The journals listed are wide-ranging from new media scholarship to basic writing to philosophy and rhetoric.

As a prominent scholar in the field, Mike Rose holds “a deep belief in the ability of the common person” and “a commitment to educational, occupational, and cultural opportunity to develop that ability.” His blog explores these beliefs and welcomes a vibrant online discussion by all.

According to the website, "The Citation Project is a multi-institution research project responding to educators’ concerns about plagiarism and the teaching of writing."

The website offers pertinent research and publications on plagiarism as well as provides teaching methods and lesson plans developed to discuss plagiarism in the classroom.

ONLINE RESOURCES

CompPile is an easily-accessible and searchable inventory on scholarship related to Composition Studies. It was created by Rich Haswell and Glenn Blalock who welcome submissions and contributions to the website from scholars in the field.

In this “Frequently Asked Questions” portion of the CompPile website, a new WPA can find information and answers to questions on topics that range from faculty development to assessment to teaching with technology.

Hosted by the National Council for the Teachers of English, the Conference on College Composition and Communication (CCCC) website is a central location for the field’s largest professional organization. On this site, you will find information on how to become a member and features of membership, access to the CCC journal, and methods of networking through the annual conference as well as Special Interest Groups.

Although it is a page within the CCCC website, the CCCC poster pages is an important resource on its own. These NCTE-sponsored and CCC-sanctioned posters explain the shared definitions of concepts in the field of rhetoric and composition.

With a primary focus on Writing Across the Curriculum (WAC), this website supports “scholarly exchange about communication across the disciplines.” Aside from access to journals, books, and other scholarship, the WAC Clearinghouse provides information on the International WAC Network as well as opportunities to participate in research and discussion.

Edited by Dylan Dryer and Richard Haswell, this additional feature of CompPile provides extensively researched bibliographies created by teams of scholars in the field on WPA-related topics.

The topics featured in the collection range from multimodal composition to grammar in context to global englishes.

Aside from journals and texts, there is a wide range of resources available online to further your knowledge of Writing Program Administration. These online resources not only provide information and context about the field, but they are also a medium for communication with your WPA peers.
